About CRP
We Offer Opportunity And Community
Vision
Underprivileged college students encounter difficulties translating academic success into professional opportunities due to limited accessible professional development. A UC Berkeley survey conducted by CRP found that 83% of surveyed students were only aware of a few student organizations that offer meaningful professional development opportunities, with 28.7% of those students unaware of any. This is in a school with 1000+ registered student organizations. The Career Readiness Program aims to address these challenges by providing comprehensive guidance and opportunities, particularly for financially constrained students, to create a more level playing field and enhance their professional futures.
Expose, Equip, Employ
CRP provides corporate tours (Expose), shadowing opportunities (Equip), and internships (Employ) to build a guided and interconnected sequence of professional development experiences. The activities are scheduled throughout the academic year. Since its launch in March 2023, CRP has organized tours and shadowing experiences with biotech companies, including Gilead, Cytokinetics, and Genentech, involving a growing number of students. The program also established internships with the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA), providing opportunities for engagement in various projects. CRP aims to increase accessibility by covering transportation costs and eliminating onboarding fees for low-income individuals.
Mission
By equipping underprivileged students with the right tools, connections, and opportunities, we can help level the playing field and open the door for a brighter future. The Career Readiness Program is dedicated to empowering students by offering comprehensive guidance, paving the way for a resilient and prosperous professional future for students
